District 11

District 11 takes in the communities of Spryfield, Sambro Loop and Prospect Road. Roughly 350km squared, with about 25,000 people, District 11 can be described as part urban, suburban and rural. With a historic communities, a strong relationship to the coast and the sea, and a lot of new development and people, District 11 offers a unique blend of lifestyle choices, outdoor recreational opportunities, with the convivence of being right next to HRM urban core. Regional Council

Regional Council is the main decision-making body for the Halifax Regional Municipality. The members are the Mayor and the 16 Councillors. Councillors also sit on boards, committees and commissions, standing committees and community councils.

Due to COVID-19, Regional Council meetings are currently being held virtually, on select Tuesdays. Meetings are broadcast live on Eastlink Community TV and on halifax.ca. Read what’s important to Regional Council and see upcoming meeting agendas here.
